blah blah

I hate it, hate it when my husband comes home and all he talks about is a dilemma he is having at work. Right now it is about a man lift. I have been hearing about this man lift for a whole week now. When will it end? My head hurts from nodding, and my throat is getting scratchy from saying I know what you mean.

This is how it is to be married to an engineer. I always said I would not marry a doctor, because I do not want to hear about his work stories, and because doctors work long hours. Now I wish I married a doctor, I am sure their work problems are more interesting that hearing about this man lift, or how he wants to put a brace here and a beam there.

Every time we pass go over a big building or a bridge he has to stand there and tell me what a great job the engineer has done, or how he chose a weak column or beam, blah blah blah.. Of course three of my friend’s husband are structural engineers as well, and every time we go out together the three husbands have to analyse every structures, and the wives just leave them and go shopping or for coffee…because we are all so sick of hearing them. One of my friends is married to a chemical engineer, and she tells me it is even worse; he has to approve every household cleaner.

There I’m done venting, as I’m typing my husband is sitting beside me. He is reading the man lift code and trying to prove that they are going against the code. And I’m nodding to every thing he say; he has no idea I am writing about him..hahaha.

salaam there Sam, you reminded me a lot of these lines i once read:
Husband: (Returning late from work) "Good Evening dear....I'm now logged in."

Wife: Have you brought the groceries?
Husband: Bad command or filename.

Wife: But I told you in the morning
Husband: SynSyntax Error. Abort?

Wife: What about my new TV?
Husband: Variable not found . . .

Wife: At least, give me your Credit Card; I want to do some shopping.
Husband: Sharing Violation. Access denied

Wife: Do you love me or do you only love computers or are you just being funny?
Husband: Too many parameters . . .

Wife: It was a great mistake that I married an idiot like you.
Husband: Data type mismatch.

Wife: You are useless.
Husband: It's by Default.

obsessed husbands should marry obsessed wives :)

Hilarious post :)

You must confront him and talk to him about it. Make sure you pick the right time to tell him how you feel because guys can be a little emotional too and he might take it wrongly. Tell him sincerely that it is driving you crazy but it might be best if he left his work in the office. You guys should have some kind of ‘rule’ where you talk about your day at work but for no more than say 15 minutes each. This is one option another option is to do it subtly like “oh honey could we not talk about your work right now” repeat often like every other day.

Good luck

LOL, too funny especially @ "he has no idea I am writing about him..hahaha"

You should plot a revenge and keep talking about accounting, HA HA HA , that would teach him.

You: My goodness the system is down.
he : AHA
you: yah it's all backed up and I can't file
he: AHA
you: and those receipts, I am categorising them in 4 different categories, travel, food, blah blah blah blah blah blah
he: aha
you: and I need to buy a calculator that does..blah blah blah
he: aha

You know, make it really uninteresting and boring as possible LOL

Even better, I think men hate talking about losing weight, go for it and then blog what happened.
